    1. Your best source of help for stuttering, especially with a young child is The Stuttering Foundation of America. Check out http://www.stutteringhelp.org and you will find tips for parents of ways they can help, if and when your child needs to see a speech therapist who specializes in treating stuttering, a list of referrals to specialists all over the world, online videos, helpful books you can find at your library, and the causes of stuttering. They are a nonprofit group started by a man who stuttered.

    2. My niece was a horrible stutterer. They ended up getting her into speech therapy, and now you wouldn’t even know. My friend’s son also was quite the stutterer, and he too was in speech therapy and you can’t tell her ever had a speech problem either. I would talk to your pediatrician and get a recommendation.

    3. The way you help is by ignoring it, don’t say the word for her, don’t call attention to it and patiently wait for her to say the word without a look of distress. If she doesn’t outgrow it, she can work with a therapist to assist her. Too much focus on it will make it harder to overcome.

    4. you can out grow it and sometimes u dont. my sister used 2 stutter she out grew it in her teens, my cousin stuttered as child and he still does . hes 20 now. i suggest u have your child see a speech pathologist

    5. Have a look at http://www.killyourstutter.com
